World-class Service and SupportEchternach, Luxembourg - At EMO in Milan (Hall 3, Stand E 02/G 01), FANUC Group will provide examples of its world-class CNC Service and Support which, when coupled with the reliability and innovation of FANUC technology, ensures maximum machine availability and productivity. Key areas include fast efficient reaction to problems, original spare parts and help from experienced engineers, operator and maintenance training, extending CNC capabilities and updating machines to the latest technology.
FANUC CNC Service and Support can increase the up-time of machines. Specially trained engineers on the technical service help-line can often solve problems immediately, or, if on-site service is necessary, can diagnose the problem and select the correct spare parts for the field service engineer. FANUC field service uses experienced engineers with frequent training in the latest FANUC technologies resulting in an over 90% first time fix rate. Original FANUC spare parts are available for at least 25 years. Maintenance costs can be minimised using a service and support contract that fits the customer’s need. There is an optional extended 24/7 technical service hot-line, as well as regular inspection and calibration services. Customers can be assured of FANUC replacement parts with the best warranties. Parts can also be ordered online or kept in ‘bonded stores’ on-site. To maximise the skills of customers’ staff, FANUC offers regular training programmes, combining practical lectures with hands-on laboratory exercises. Training courses cover programming and operation, fault diagnosis and maintenance, as well as system design and software development. Customised courses at a user’s premises can be arranged or the equipment used by FANUC can be hired for ‘in-house’ use. PC simulator software is also available for training purposes. NCGuide simulates the CNC operator environment, featuring ISO programming or FANUC’s job shop programming software Manual Guide i. And 'quaeroCNC' offers complete electronic documentation of FANUC hardware on a single DVD with extremely fast search times. Very often a user’s CNC could achieve more. This may simply require the activation of software options within the CNC. FANUC can also tune the specific user system to improve servo performance, and there are special option packages like HSHP (High Speed High Precision Machining) and HPCC (High Precision Contouring Control). Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contracts will help to maintain reliability and performance. Teleservice enables on-line connectivity with the machine tool builder or supplier enabling them to communicate with a user’s machine to analyse problems without waiting for a visit. Retrofitting an ageing or high maintenance machine with the latest FANUC CNC control technology can be very cost-effective compared to purchasing a new machine tool. It will improve mean-time between failures and mean-time to repair, as well as offering the potential for energy savings, performance improvement and improved access to manufacturing data. A new FANUC CNC can also reduce set-up time, reduce downtime, and increase the speed of operation and production part yields.
